Uncle Buck are a short term loans provider who partnered with Absolute Digital Media to improve their search visibility.
Uncle Buck partnered with Absolute Digital Media in April 2018 with a number of key objectives to enhance their overall search visibility in the competitive payday loan market.
While they had previously undertaken some SEO in the past, this had been unsuccessful in providing them with the results that they required to effectively compete against some of the more well-known leaders of the industry such as Quick Quid and Pounds To Pocket. Their aim was to reach page one from the bottom of page two for one of the most competitive keywords in the industry, ‘payday loans’.
Absolute Digital Media identified a number of ways to help Uncle Buck overcome their challenges in addition to a regular link detox.
They conducted an in-depth technical audit to determine weaknesses on the site and resolved issues such as: duplicate meta descriptions, duplicate title tags, slow page load speed and invalid robots.txt format.
In addition to this, they integrated a creative content marketing strategy to earn links on highly authoritative and relevant sites. Relevancy was also improved to increase the amount and quality of information available for site visitors.
Further improvements were made to the user experience on the home page loan calculator and loan application form. And finally, Absolute Yotpo Reviews on the home and services pages and collaborated with Yotpo API to integrate the reviews and scheme data with the services pages.
Their partnership helped Uncle Buck to achieve position:
- One for ‘payday loans’ which has 301,000 monthly searches
- One for ‘same day loans’ which has 12,100 monthly searches
- One for search term ‘payday loans direct lenders’ which has 33,100 monthly searches.
In addition to reaching these keyword goals, the campaign resulted in a:
- 64 per cent increase in top three positions
- 17 per cent increase in new users
- 88 per cent increase on /payday-loans
- 34 per cent overall increase in users
- 96 per cent increase in multiple sessions.
The campaign also won the UK Search Award Best Use Of Search Finance Campaign 2018 and the Drum Search Awards Best Financial & Professional Campaign 2019.
