The X Factor

Challenge

This latest series of The X Factor found itself in a unique situation – 3 out of their 4 notorious judges Simon, Cheryl and Danni decided not return for the 8th series of the show. The judges and the audience’s relationship with them forms a core part of The X Factor experience both on and offline. Pancentric was appointed following a competitive 4-way pitch to develop the strategy and design for the new X Factor website.

Solution

The end result was a dynamic site that evolved as the show progressed, unveiling new content and features at each of the key X Factor stages from the auditions to boot-camp through to the judges’ houses and live finals. This helped the site grow in commercial attractiveness throughout the series as well as delighting fans of the show with unique, entertaining and interactive content that celebrates all things X Factor.

Results

Richard Williams, Controller, Multiplatform Commissioning & Digital, ITV says “The X Factor is one of our biggest digital brands, with a passionate and dedicated fanbase. Getting the online and on demand user experience right for a show like this is a crucial part of harnessing that passion and I’m confident that Pancentric will work with us to set the bar high for these kind of entertainment formats.”
