JOSEPH

Launching a high-end fashion website in three and a half months

Challenge: Launching A Premium Fashion Website

JOSEPH is a contemporary, luxury fashion label with a global following.

The fashion brand needed an ecommerce platform capable of supporting its ambitious growth plans, which included international expansion. But with a fashion website built on Venda – an aging ecommerce platform with which JOSEPH had a looming contract renewal date – the luxury clothing label had a hard deadline for finding and implementing a new solution.

The new ecommerce solution needed to provide JOSEPH with greater control over the look and feel of the website, enabling higher engagement and conversion through a rich user interface that better reflected the premium brand.

With a small in-house technical team experienced in working with a software-as-a-service (SaaS) ecommerce platform, JOSEPH was keen to find a solution that would enable a high level of autonomy and self-management without the team needing to manage a technical roadmap.

There was much at stake with this re-platforming project, and the transition between old and new platforms needed to be seamless. It was imperative that the chosen technology partner would be able to meet the strict budget and deadline to ensure business continuity.

Solution

After running a multi-platform pitch process, JOSEPH decided that Salesforce Commerce Cloud, formerly known as Demandware – an ecommerce solution used by fashion and sports brands including Burton, Lacoste, Adidas, and Puma – was best positioned to support its business goals.

By offering ecommerce as a SaaS solution, JOSEPH would have access to best-in-class features and functionality without having to manage a technical roadmap, and would have access to features including frictionless checkout with Apple pay for web, and embedded artificial intelligence for personalised, on-site product recommendations and personalised email.

As a trusted technology partner and consultant with a history of working with luxury fashion brands, Inviqa was JOSEPH’s partner of choice, even though this project would represent Inviqa’s first Salesforce Commerce Cloud deployment.

Our work with JOSEPH included:

  • Discovery: workshops with key stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of the project goals and how success would be measured to help prioritise and inform decisions
  • Salesforce Commerce Cloud: customisation and implementation
  • Branding, User experience, UI, and mobile-optimised design
  • Implementation of internationalisation features including making the site multi-language, multi-currency, and multi-region
  • Business Intelligence, user journey, and behaviour pathway analytics
  • Project management and programme governance

Results

Supported by Salesforce, Inviqa delivered the new JOSEPH website on-budget within just 3.5 months – one of the fastest delivery times achieved for a Salesforce Commerce Cloud website of this complexity.

It is unusual to see a Commerce Cloud website with an interface as rich and complex as the JOSEPH site delivered in such a fast timeframe. The website passed Salesforce’s rigorous site readiness assessment first time – an impressive achievement for a first Commerce Cloud project.

The new interface is befitting of a high-end fashion brand and features rich content including full-page video, with flexible templates that make it easy for JOSEPH’s digital team to manage the look and feel of the site.

The feature-rich website is multi-language, multi-territory, and multi-currency, supporting a complex catalogue and providing JOSEPH with a platform to propel its international growth.
