In the intensely competitive world of men’s shaving, getting a new product launch right is mission-critical. Wilkinson Sword HYDRO revolutionised the category with its innovative hydrating gel activation system. The task was to tell the world. Feref won the task of launching HYDRO via online marketing, advertising and digital outdoor.

The solution was simple: to ‘surprise’ the viewer and to engage them with the product innovation. Backed by the largest FMCG media spend this year, the creative had to grab attention and communicate the benefits perfectly. Water droplets collided over the top of websites and portals creating jaw-dropping explosions that revealed the new HYDRO. CGI razors took the viewer through a simple yet engaging product demonstration.

Backed by streaming and interactive ad units, viewers could go on to experience streaming video, micro-sites and social media connectivity within the ad units themselves. Social media centred on Facebook with games, promotions and conversation. A heavyweight Facebook road block delivered a variety of ad formats including polls, like and video engagement ads.

As a result Hydro claimed its position as fastest selling male systems handle and Increased market share from 11 per cent to 30.89 per cent.
