Brief
Lilo was approached to redesign Simply Removals’ existing website, company logo and vehicle signage. The project entailed producing a series of creative character illustrations for their new website, corporate brand and fleet of removal vehicles.
Our design and branding solution for this UK-based removals company, was not only successful but received widespread media coverage and brand exposure. Lilo’s new design for the Simply Removals vehicle was incidentally made public via the perfect platform and occasion when Simply Removals recently moved British Prime Minister, David Cameron and his family to their new home in number 10 Downing Street.
Strategy
The client briefed us on elements and styles that they wanted to see in their new website design. Lilo had the unique challenge of designing something new and fresh that would still reflect aspects of the existing Simply Removals’ Brand. The client wanted a brand-evolution strategy that incorporated the colours and flavour of their original brand.
Together with our illustrator we devised a strategy that would result in a fresh, contemporary design, containing important elements of the company’s existing design and logo.
Execution
We chose an illustrator whose style and skill suited this specific project. After presenting the client with a series of character scamps, we proceeded with the final illustrations. A main character was illustrated for both online advertising and vehicle signage purposes. The illustrations would serve the purpose of engaging the user, leading them through the quoting process and showing them Simply Removals’ processes and benefits.
Results
Together with the character illustrations we presented the client with a unique website design. We based the design of the website on the “action-hero” theme of the illustrations. Bright blues and yellows were used to complement the Simply Removals brand and new corporate character. The end-result was a vibrant new website exhibiting Simply Removals’ contemporary new corporate identity.
