Moneysupermarket is the UK’s leading price comparison company. The company’s stated objective is to help every household to make the most of their money by providing their customers with a free online service enabling them to search and compare a wide range of products by price, product features and service in one place. Moneysupermarket.com operates across four verticals: insurance, finance, travel and home services.
The company is very active in the field of search marketing, as well as online display advertising. They wanted to leverage their marketing power by combining the key digital marketing channels i.e. paid search, natural search (seo), and display. Puregenie Digital Recruitment was tasked in finding an individual with the key skills and experience to be able to do this.
Strategy and Execution
We recognised that we needed to find someone with a genuine depth of experience in digital marketing, someone who could both grasp the strategic nature of the role, but also someone who had been involved in the detail. We concluded that it was highly likely that we would find such a person from the digital agency world. However we also wanted them to have some client side experience. After a very comprehensive and detailed search, we came up with a “long-list” of potential prospects. After a detailed assessment deploying competency based style interviews we whittled this down to a short-list of highly capable candidates. Moneysupermarket then undertook a rigorous assessment process from which a stand out candidate emerged. The individual started at Moneysupermarket earlier this year and is making a genuine impact on the business.
