Dorling Kindersley are producers of Eyewitness Travel, one of the world’s leading travel guide series. Cogapp worked with DK to provide Eyewitness Travel with a new outlet on the iPad – a device that could have been designed to showcase its trademark visual appeal.
Starting with the Eyewitness Guide to Paris, we worked with DK to design a new interactive and visual language for the guides and to devise a publishing process that turns the content of the books into the contents of an app with minimal manual intervention. Apps for Paris, London and New York went on sale in the iTunes store towards the end of 2010 and Rome and Washington launched in 2011.
The DK Eyewitness Paris iPad app was selected as an Official Honouree for the Travel Category in the 15th Annual Webby Awards in 2011.
