Britannic Technologies
|
|
Brief
Telecoms technology provider Britannic Technologies needed a new website which would clearly present the company's mission, namely to work in partnership with customers and help them profit from an integrated communication technology strategy. The core of Britannic’s business model is the desire to put the customer first and offer innovative telecommunications solutions combined with trustworthy service. To reflect this was a crucial element when planning how the new website was to be implemented.
Strategy
In order to promote Britannic's offerings of integrated telecommunications solutions it was decided to make the website an integrated solution in its own right. Focus was aimed at how site visitors could learn about the technologies provided by Britannic and then get in contact with Britannic as easily as possible.
Britannic wanted to supply the site visitors with as much information as possible online in order to empower them to explore opportunities and possibilities on their own. It was decided to create an extranet where customers can find additional information about Britannic's product offering and learn about other services including Britannic's technical innovations. Additionally Britannic wanted an online newsletter whereby site visitors can register to stay up-to-date with the latest news and events.
Execution
For Britannic, the entire process has been eased due to the fact that they have only needed to communicate with Codehouse. One supplier = one single point of contact.
A key consideration about the new website was that the interests and goals of the potential customers must have the highest priority and the elements most important to them must have the most focus. Much emphasis is thus put on presenting Britannic’s products and services in a clear and accessible manner.
The new website is built on Umbraco CMS, a leading open source ASP.NET content management system (CMS). Codehouse has developed the entire site from web design and html through to the technical implementation as well as integration to Britannic’s call back service.
Newsletters are produced directly from within the Umbraco CMS through the Umbraco newsletter functionality. The rotating displays on the landing page are made with some jQuery magic and can also be content managed from within the CMS. The design is made with rounded corners, friendly typography, enticing buttons and a good sprinkling of comments from satisfied clients. Using the Umbraco members functionality combined with Umbraco’s public access control feature has allowed content to be secured behind a registration process.
Results
The result is a website solution which takes a potentially complex topic, including some esoteric terminology, and presents it in such a way as to be accessible by business users.
One of the key features on the new website is the integration between the website and Britannic’s call back services. The website has a feature to allow a call back request on the website to be received in real-time by the call-centre who will then call the customer. For potential clients it really should be that easy to get in touch with Britannic.
Codehouse has helped Britannic Technologies onto an attractive online platform to both inform and increase interaction with their site visitors. The result is a new Umbraco-based website and extranet with an increased focus on Britannic’s solutions and services. Britannic Technologies is an innovative operator in the telecommunications industry and the aim for a more engaging online presence was a direct extension of the company’s values.
