Why Photobox.co.uk loves PayPal
|
|
PhotoBox (www.photobox.co.uk) was the first online photo service to launch in the UK. They are an established market leader in online photo sharing, storing and printing and form part of the Photoways Group - Europe’s biggest online photo service - which operates state-of-the-art laboratories in Paris and London and enables them to produce over one million prints per day.The Challenge
Soon after their launch in 2000, it became clear to PhotoBox that their customers wanted the option to pay with PayPal.
“PayPal started to be widely used as an alternative online payment method. Customers were asking for it, so we simply had to give them what they wanted and that’s why we integrated PayPal into our website,” says Ben Ferrier, Brand Manager at PhotoBox.
The Solution
PhotoBox integrated PayPal’s Express Checkout solution and according to Ben, they were especially impressed with how quickly it was up and running. “It took less than a month from the point we decided to integrate PayPal to having it live on our site.”
Ben thinks customers prefer PayPal because of the ease of use and convenience it offers. “Our customers use it for a wide range of services, so it makes sense for us to offer it too.”
The Results
Customers prefer to pay with PayPal
According to a recent PhotoBox survey, over 30% of respondents indicated that PayPal was their preferred online payment option.
“Our customers have reacted very positively to PayPal. Through our partnership with PayPal we gained access to PayPal’s large user base and saw an increase in traffic to our site. Within the first few weeks, we experienced a significant uplift in sales,” says Ben.
Highly recommended
“PayPal is a safe and trusted method of payment for our customers and a common sense tool for any online business.
We know it’s one of the most preferred online payment options in the UK – why would any merchant want to alienate those customers?” concludes Ben.
“Through our partnership with PayPal we gained access to PayPal’s large user base and saw an increase in traffic to our site.”
