Lucozade Sport is the leader in safe sports nutrition. Their aim is to provide the very best in sports nutrition, advice and service and have developed a new range of sports nutrition products to satisfy the five key training needs - hydration, fuel, focus, recovery and strength. With such a loyal customer base through many years of product development and marketing on many platforms, Lucozade Sport needed a highly bespoke ecommerce solution to sell their nutritional sports drinks from an additional channel. Lucozade Sport were looking for an ecommerce platform that was intuitive from a consumer perspective so customers fully understood which product was best suited for their sporting needs. Additionally, the solution needed to help streamline internal processes, which involved the creation of a pick, pack and dispatch warehouse module. This would allow the Lucozade Sport warehouse team to easily process all orders and then ship them via Parcel Force.
Strategy & Execution
The key message with the warehouse module was to improve efficiency by developing an advanced workflow system save Lucozade Sport both time and money on resource. The Lucozade Sport warehouse staff have the ability to process orders, print off invoices and picklists in bulk, again saving time. The pick list functionality in particular speeds up the packing process by informing the warehouse team to pack the heaviest and largest products first, as well as indicating which box type should be used. This intelligent pick list module saves Lucozade any product damages as well as increasing the customer satisfaction and limiting product recall.
The original Lucozade shop was specifically designed for taking orders but included a long winded process of invoice generating, address label printing and order processing. Therefore, on the whole the warehouse team found it unproductive and time consuming. The new bespoke warehouse application eradicates this need for unnecessary internal processes and directly bypasses this to eliminate the risk of further human error by automating processes to keep it simple for the warehouse team to use.
Result
The thorough nature of the initial meetings with Advansys meant that the end result worked perfectly and delivered each specific function that Lucozade Sport needs. The user friendly and attractive website is designed with the sports nutrition market in mind and the breakdown of each product into who is it for and when should you use the product means that the customer can find the product they need for their particular sport. The direct nature from the order from the website straight to the warehouse means that there are very few errors and the delivery process is relatively immediate. The synchronisation with Parcel Force means that only one delivery source is used and each package is quickly tracked and delivered efficiently.
Although the new ecommerce store has not been live for a long period of time, Lucozade Sport have already seen a rise in orders and the warehouse pick, pack and dispatch module has led to a more positive experience for the customer. The streamlining of these processes has revolutionised the way Lucozade Sport uses their online business and in turn helped to increase business.
