Brief
Komodo’s had a main site and a separate online shop, built using third party software. The website was not effective and very few people were clicking through from the main site to the shop.
The home page didn’t have an aspirational image like some of their competitors (the major retail brands such as ASAOS and Howies). The old design was generic and the site architecture and navigation was confusing.
Consequently the levels of sales was very low.
The old design needed a face-lift so that the site can promote the brand and encourage people to stay on the site for a longer time.
The aim of the project was to redesign the website to improve branding and sales.
Strategy
First step was to identify the business requirements and user needs. After that we did an audit of komodo site to determine the problems with the website and try to identify issues related to design, content, navigation, accessibility and usability. Based on the finding and client’s requirement a website prototype/wireframe was designed for client’s approval.
A crucial part of the strategy was to record the effectiveness of the redesign using Google Analytics.
Execution
Anicca digital solutions re-designed Komodo’s website to attract customers as well as allow them to navigate around the site spontaneously so they feel at home in the environment.
While redesigning we ensured that new design is attractive and promoting the brand. Anicca Digital Solutions created a new site with a crisp and attractive design, aimed specifically at Komodo’s target audience.
Clear navigation ensures visitors find their way about easily. This is partially achieved by creating a new design which is both attractive and methodical in the layout and is driven by a good understanding of both the end users expectations and a creative urge to deliver an enjoyable user experience.
Results
A fresh, stylish re-designed website is successfully representing Komodo label. The redesign brought a quick positive response, immediately leading to more sales; as customers and internal staff find the site much easier to use.
The overall traffic has increased dramatically after the launch of the re-design site. Prior to re-design website was getting less than 100 visits per day, which increased to ~250 per day after the implementation of re-design. Re-design helped komodo to increase traffic on their website which immediately leading to more sales through their online shop. There were no conversions from the old website as soon as the redesign was implemented, 29 conversions reported in 45 days.
The redesign and structure navigation enabled visitors to view more pages and continue on deeper into the web site which eventually resulted in significant decrease in bounce rate and increase in the average time on site per user.
After the implementation of re-design average time on site by users has increased by ~40%. Re-design also helped Komodo to get more numerous visitors to the website who are more engaged, and stay on the site much longer than the past.
