Brief
Bristan looked to create an eCommerce platform that could integrate with their existing ERP system IFS. With a constantly changing stock range and a legacy range running into 100’s of spare parts, the company required efficient management of SKU’s that would allow both retailers, wholesalers and members of the public to search for products and product parts. It also needed to be able to easily locate either a retailer for purchase of the current range or a clear route to purchase for legacy parts. The site needed to not only integrate into an existing system but be future proofed to accommodate further growth and development of product micro sites and new brands.
Strategy
After a series of workshops and consultations, big group recommended the creation of a digital ecosystem that provided a robust platform for further growth while still taking all data from the company wide ERP. This was critical as all forms of digital engagement is product led and therefore availability of product is key. Bristan rightly pride themselves on having one of the fastest and most immediate delivery systems available.
Execution
Using the corporate guidelines, designs were worked up and approved that highlighted the clean feel of the brand and gave clear signposts to consumers, wholesales and retailers. Heavily involved throughout the process were the ERP supplier IFS to ensure a robust integration of products and customer records. The site was developed over a 16-week period with a series of key milestones including QC, user testing and internal testing. Big:group also worked closely with the selected hosting partner Rackspace to ensure loading times were kept to a minimum and that the support agreements reflected the 24 hour nature of the requirement.
Results
“We are really delighted with the fresh approach big: group took to our solve our needs, the site looks just as we wanted and the user experience is great”.
